"Contrary to general belief" by Ghosts in Spanish Culture

Ghosts in Spanish Culture (a.k.a. GiSC) is a multiracial DJ/rap crew from Pamplona, Spain.
"Contrary to general belief" is their first album and it's entirely made with turntables. Of course they can't get all of the live energy onto a CD but their debut sounds nevertheless very hard and convincing. Although it's a bit weird to record an album completely made of ...album recordings. This a powerfull breakthrough of a very talented bunch of rap artists.
One of the best albums of this year. Not to be missed!

"The world is my country" by The Indian Queen

Don't get them wrong, The Indian Queen is a band. (Yes, that's what Debbie Harry from Blondie always stated too, about her band). Only in this case it's a one woman band. Carrie Gibson has been playing lo-fi for years and she plays about all the instruments on her debut album herself. But that will be a bit difficult on her first world tour. That's why she formed a band, called The Indian Queen.
I only hope she sounds as fresh, crisp and innocent as she does on "The world is my country".

"Many people would sooner die than think" by Matthew Cox

The jury wasn't thrilled but the public went wild because of Matthew Cox on Australia got talent. What he does isn't breathtaking nor world shocking but the fans love him. As if they are looking for a new James Blunt. His debut single "You're the one" sold millions...
Now let's see who knows best, the record buying audience or the money making jury.
One thing is sure though: all contestants on talent shows lose, even the winners.
